Testing Information

Our students will be participating in Advanced Placement exams during the weeks of May 4-13. Getting to school on time is essential for these national exams. We will test if there is a one hour delay; students will be asked to arrive at 8:45 if this happens. There are no make-ups for these tests; attendance is mandatory. Because the national exams are given on a school day, students are required to be in school on the day of the exam. Please do not schedule appointments on testing days as students are expected to be in school before and after an exam.
Our High School Assessments will be given May 17-21. The specific content areas that will be tested are: May 17: Biology; May 18: Algebra; May 10: Government; and May 21: English. There is no High School Assessment testing on Wednesday, May 19. If a student is absent for the first week of testing, there are two make-up weeks for these students. Any student may retake a high school assessment and I have sent letters to students who may wish to retake tests in May. We are offering after school help sessions to work on content skills starting May 3.  These sessions are open to any students who are taking the test.  See Ms. Smith, our After School Academy Facilitator, for registration forms.
The Bridge Plan for Academic Validation (BPAV) is an instructional intervention which provides students who are having difficulty on the HSA’s an alternative means to meet the graduation requirement. The Bridge Plan is for students who have passed the HSA-related course but have not passed an HSA after two or more attempts. To be eligible for the Bridge Plan, the student must also be making satisfactory progress toward graduation; have participated in locally administered or approved assistance; and have demonstrated satisfactory attendance as determined by local standards. We currently offer a Bridge Plan class during the school day in order to meet these requirements. Students have been contacted who may participate in this program.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me at 410-641-2171.
