Personal:
This is my first year as a certified teacher, but my 14th year
working in education. I was the guidance secretary for eight years
at Pocomoke High School. For the past six years I have been working
as an educational assistant and running the computer lab at PHS where I
taught the television production class, Warriors Communications.
I was born on Long Island in New York and
lived there until 1977. I moved to Pocomoke in August of 1977.
I married my husband, Dean Brittingham, in 1982 and lived in Sign Post,
Virginia until 1990 when we moved to Stockton, Maryland, where we currently
reside. We have three children - Lynda, John and Jamey Brittingham.
Lynda is a graduate of Mount Olive College and works as a Special Events
Coordinator for the Town of Ocean City. John is a senior at
Bloomsburg University and Jamey is a sophomore at Radford
University. My maiden name is Darcy. I have two sisters (Kathy
Roberts and Doreen Howard) and three brothers (Tom, Tim and Kevin
Darcy).
I am excited to be an English teacher and to
have the opportunity to use my television production background in a
school with lots of equipment and high tech gadgets. I love working
with teenagers and look forward to getting to know the students in
Northern Worcester County.
My favorite quote is, "I can do all things
through Christ who strengthens me." Phillipians 4:13
My
greatest accomplishment is getting my college degree after many years of
going to school part-time. I completed my college degree while
working full-time and raising our busy children. I am most proud that our
children have grown up to be kind, responsible, and hard-working
people.
Education:

Communication Arts/Yearbook Students will be broadcasting the morning announcements and
a 30-minute television show on the local cable
channel. Students will also create the 2007-08 yearbook. All
of my students will learn about the art of presentation. They will
be presenting themselves in a professional manner through the
Communication Arts class, and they will produce and present a yearbook
which is well designed for our students and school
community.
