| As we welcome our newest Seahawks, they will be a part of a program that is not only academically stimulating, but also geared so that all students will be afforded the opportunity to meet with success at their own pace. Emphasis will be placed during the 9th and 10th grades on a rigorous program focusing on the core content areas of English, math, science and social studies. We look forward to meeting you Thursday, September 20 during Back to School Night. Please try to attend all parent teacher conferences this year and visit classes during American Education Week. "Required Forms: During homeroom on the first day of school, seniors will be given three very important forms: 1) a form to indicate how your child's name is to be printed on his/her diploma; 2) a form concerning the release of directory information to the military: 3) a release form to allow your child to rquest transcripts throughout the year. "

Assistance is always available in the guidance office. Students actively use the resource tools in the guidance office for researching job opportunities, planning schedules, getting work permits, applying to college, checking their transcripts, and seeking assistance with personal problems. Currently there are four counselors and two secretaries serving the students of Stephen Decatur High School in grades 9-12.
