Mission Statement Maryland Youth Action Corps (MYAC) Goals

Connections
will:

Provide a central location of organized community service learning information to students

Act as a facilitator between students and community based organizations.

Network with other schools and community based organizations in the area.

Fulfill the need for a Maryland Youth Action Corps (MYAC) branch in the lower counties of the Eastern Shore.
MYAC is a non-profit youth service learning organization run through the Governor's Office on Service and Volunteerism. It provides a statewide network of opportunities for students interested in service learning and volunteerism. Connections has developed close ties to this organization that will be maintained in the future.

Connections intends to create a student-driven volunteer center that will fulfill the volunteer needs of the community and of students.

We intend to increase communication betweeen students and their community, in a way that alwos all participants to enjoy a positie expericen helping others.

We intend to instill an appreciation for the principles and values of service learning education in students, as well as to increase their fundamental awareness of their place in the community.
