Cell Phones

The administration and I have met over the summer to discuss a plan to eliminate student cell phone usage.  In order to carry out this plan, we need everyone to work together in following the progression of consequences listed below.

Students will be given ONE warning.  This warning will be issued at the beginning of the school year during their class meeting.  Cell phone usage is not permitted in hallways and instructional areas during the school day.  Should you witness a student using their cell phone during this time, the following steps should be taken:

1st Occurrence:  Confiscation of phone.  The phone may be returned no later than the end of that school day.

2nd Occurrence:  Confiscation of phone with referral to the administration.

Once the administration receives the referral, the following steps will take place:

1st Referral:    Confiscation of phone until the end of the day, with a parent conference by phone or in person

2nd Referral:  Confiscation of phone, Saturday School and a parent must come in for a conference to retrieve phone.

3rd Referral:   Confiscation of phone, Out of School Suspension, and parent must come in for a conference to retrieve phone.
